PetNanny - so much more than just dog walking
We've used Caroline's services since 2002 now ... Caroline has helped us look after three of our fur-babes and she has not just walked them, but also provided them with socialization, training and interesting activities ... we know Caroline has our dog's best interests at heart and we know our little woofer is as safe with her as she is with us, while having a great time with her doggie mates! - Lyn
PetNanny is a Pet Nanny service run by me, Caroline Howlett, providing the highest quality care for your pets. I am proud that we are small enough to provide a truly personalised, dedicated service yet are still able to fulfil our customers’ requests (most of the time!).
What makes PetNanny different to other dog walkers?
Over 20 years' experience of looking after dogs in so many ways
PetNanny was born in 1998, making it one of the first dedicated dog walking businesses in the North East of England. Since then, we have been on over 12,500 dog walks with over 80,000 dogs, giving us a breadth of experience that few dog walkers can match.
As well as dog walking I've provided a full range of Pet Nanny services, and it's that which makes me different. Keep scrolling to see how I can really help you and your dog.
Not just dog walking, but training and handling too
When I look after your dog, I will always train him so that when I, and you, take him for a walk both you and your dog will be best prepared for any emergency that may arise.
I also work with all of the dogs in my care so that you, your vet and your dog's groomer can all handle your dog with the minimum of stress for him.
But people, as well as dogs, never stop learning so I continue with my education, attending seminars and training courses. Jenny Adams of Positively Pets, one of the North East’s most accomplished dog trainers, provides one to one training sessions for me to assess my handling and educate me in the most recent training techniques.
Keeping your dogs physically safe at all times
I care deeply about the dogs I look after so I arrange for a local vet to regularly inspect my van, and its occupants, making sure that the dogs are relaxed and happy.
I also take time to get your dog used to vehicle travel so that you can be sure he's calm and safe around vehicles at all times.
Not just walking but training too!
Before I let any dog off lead, I train him so that’s he’s controllable, happy and listening to me, keeping him, his buddies, and everyone around him safe from harm – and the training doesn’t cost you a penny more than the dog walking fee.
It's all about what's right for your dog
No matter what problems your dog may have, whether he's old, disabled or infirm, I'll exercise him appropriately, making sure that I work with his own abilities so that his mental and physical needs are always met.
And like most dog walkers, I walk my dogs in groups, but I always group them by temperament rather than how close they live to one another. This means that you can rest assured that if you have a shy, retiring dog he won’t be overwhelmed by a big bouncy Labrador – and that if you have a big, bouncy Labrador he’ll have plenty of bouncy buddies to play with!
As well as walking your dogs, I also provide training and mentoring for other dog walkers, and consultancy services for dog creche owners too. If you’re interested in either of these services please feel free to contact me on 07881 827 899 or email me at ukpetnanny@gmail.com.
